Saddam Hussein- Dead

BAGHDAD, Iraq had news for the world Saddam Hussein has been executed — Saddam Hussein struggled briefly after American military guards handed him over to Iraqi executioners before dawn Saturday. But as his final moments approached and masked executioners slipped a black cloth and noose around his neck, he grew calm according to reports. I do wonder if the irony of the situatuation hit him- as he had passed laws personally in times gone by, that enabled his execution today.
In a final moment of defiance, he refused a hood to cover his eyes.
Hours after Saddam faced the same fate he was accused of inflicting on countless thousands during a quarter-century of ruthless power, Iraqi state television showed grainy video of what it said was his body, the head uncovered and the neck twisted at a sharp angle.
As eveil as he was- I feel this is a mistake for two reasons.
First of all- just because he behaved the way he did during his life- does not mean that the rest of us could not 'rise above' this kind of brutal behaviour and instead sentence him to a life in prison.
From a broader point of view- in the eyes of his supporters- by executing Saddam- we have made him a martyr...which I believe to big the biggest mistake of all.

Do reality- RockStartUp shows get on your nerves?

Well they are starting to grate on me- I have to say.
Here in the UK, and in the US, we're starting to drown in them!
Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and the rude guy...picking folk apart and then choosing someone who looks like a feotus and sings Sinatra songs to tell - there gonna go far....bull. Yes the public vote but...tell me this- how many of us buy albums of kids singing Sinatra songs...When they tell these kids they will go far- do they mean a lifetime of cruise ships entertaining bored trapped holiday makers- or maybe a british costal tours of all the wonderful Butlins camps?
On the Uk one- they even went as far as to humiliate the ones that' Had awful voices, or were a few slices short of a loaf (if you know what I mean) and managed to make the poor souls feel greatful for getting on tv.:(
Public humiliation of the tone deaf- well it's just not on- in my book!
And Sharon- I used to be a great fan of yours but...who are you kidding by doing adds for Asda, and Gala Bingo- like you care about saving 20p on your spuds or even go shopping?LMAO
I also don't think the ladies are going to bump into you down the bingo hall either- why are you doing these down market adds? No on belives you push a trolly round ASDA.lol
You sure don't need the money girl!

Ok £100 reward for anyone who can show me a genuine pic of Sharon Ozbourne bagging up her sprouts and buying Ozzie's booze in Asda...Im waiting.:)

It's been suggested that we set up a europe wide 'Silicon Valley'.Does the average person care?
Nope- but we maybe should. The Americans right now because of their sheer numbers- rule the cyber waves. Perhaps Europe time has come to rule the web waves.

Zune-Ipods Enemy

It looks like the new Zune will be Ipods enemy this Christmas. The Zune opens a new market of "social" music connectivity. It has been two weeks since the Zune had hit stores, it is thought that over one million of them could be sold by Chrismas-I wonder....
All those I know have a love affair going on with their Ipods, and adore those little trade mark bud ear plugs so much that...Im sure they won't give them up lightly....
I don't think Apple will be sweating just yet on this one, lets wait and see if they become the 'must have' hot xmas item this year-no matter what the hype say's.

Pinochet- Died Heart attack blamed

SANTIAGO, Chile – Gen. Augusto Pinochet, who overthrew Chile's democratically elected Marxist president in a bloody coup and ruled this Andean nation for 17 years, died today, dashing hopes of victims of his regime's abuses that he would be brought to justice. He was 91.
He died of a heart attack and now there is no chance of him being held to account for the estimated 3,197 victims said to have been killed by him for purely political reasons.
Lets hope the country never suffers such a despot again.

James Kim- Dies of exposure

Just to prove to us all- that money and succes don't inoculate any of us from tragedy...
James Kim left his stranded family to seek help in the mountains of Southern Oregon died near a tourist/fishing lodge that could have provided warmth, shelter and food for months.
But James Kim, 35, had no way of knowing it and ultimately died of hypothermia. His body was found after a massive search in a creek's shallow waters.
Lost and starving, Kim set out Saturday, leaving his wife and two young daughters behind in the family's snowbound station wagon, which was stuck on a remote logging road just a mile or so from the Black Bar Lodge.
The building was closed for the winter, but still could have provided the refuge he and his family desperately needed.
A sad and horrible tragedy for the family and business world to boot.

Iraq- wtf is going on now?

So as a UK dweller- One may be forgiven for thinking that there's nothing happening at all now in Iraq....we barely hear a word about it. I was quite shocked when in a recent phone call for an old friend in Thailand revealed that their news is keeping them better informed than our news in the UK? WTF is up with that then? Is this a dileberate ploy? or what Tony Blair had for lunch really does matter to the nation sooo much more than are virtually forgotten troops stuck out there at Christmas and with no- one really having any plan of what to do about it...my heart goes out to them and their families...they have got to feel cheated that the media is virtually ignoring soldiers being killed and left with out a plan...I hop for all their sakes SOMEONE gets their act together soon and brings them home.

Lindsay Lohan Can still party:)

Hollywood party girl Princess Lindsay Lohan is receiving alcohol counselling in a bid to stay sober, according to the latest news in the US gossip reports.
The star was recently snapped sporting an Alcoholics Anonymous badge, and sources claim she's visited a group therapy session with the organization in Los Angeles yesterday morning.
Dosen't seem to prevent her from going to wild parties and having a little tiny weeny drink though does it?

StudiVZ

No not a brand of coffee like I first thought:)Launched in October 2005 by students in Berlin, StudiVZ’s story is an interesting one but oh to familiare one. With 1 million members from Germany, Switzerland, Austria and other German speaking countries - up from 800,000 in October - they’ve certainly got some traction. They’ve even expanded to other countries like France, Poland, Italy and Spain, and have funding from the founders of the ringtone company Jamba, which was acquired by News Corp in September. StudiVZ’s original seed funding, meanwhile, came from the founders of Spreadshirt - Ehssan worked there as an intern. Further investment came from Holtzbrinck Venture Capital - the investment is rumored to be in the region of 10 or 12 million Euros, although this is strongly refuted by the site’s founders.
Anyho its a bit like a german UTube or MySpace type portal....anyhow it's been cloned and ripped off ...and big news they don't care- so should we?:)
